Ruth Bowman

Lives & works on Vancouver Island, BC

In 2013 Ruth began a full time art career by enrolling at the Victoria College of Art.

​

After receiving certificates in Illustration Ruth became a juried member of the Island Illustrators Society which shut down in 2024.  She participated in many of their shows and events.

​

Ruth is focusing on illustrating and writing children's picture books and chapter books.  She has completed courses with the London Art College and the Children's Book Academy. 

​

She creates water colour paintings which she embellishes with ink as well as realistic coloured pencil drawings.

Combining her years of experience as a primary teacher with her illustration skills, Ruth now has a Teachers Pay Teachers store called Wisdom of the Aged. Worksheets and stories that she has illustrated over the years are available for download after purchase.  

Ruth also sells clip art for other teachers and individuals to purchase and use in their creations She accepts commissions to create unique clip art.

Ruth uses an ipad Pro and Procreate to create her clip art.
